Joed got word this morning through his brother that Jefferson Parish would be allowing re-entry to those persons with the Tier 1 and Tier 2 placards @ noon TODAY! We have not been able to verify this information throught the Jeff Parish web site or the WWLTV web site but he got on the road by 11:30 from Ruston. As soon as I get word about his progress I will post that information for you to know.
God is gracious to have spared us another big one. Pray for those that have been hard hit, we know what that's like don't we??
Please post any information that you may have received about areas on the Westbank.
Arzel
David Ritchie was a Tier 1 and he verified that his home on Farrington is out of electricity. Still no electricity on Wednesday. A tornado hit Westwego just as he was arriving and hit the Avenue A and Louisiana Streets in Westwego. Had another one after that but we don't have a report as to where that one hit. Joey and I are in Pensacola.
Joed was Tier 2 and arrived home Tuesday evening about 6:30pm. We live on Allo St one block over from King Grant Sub. We too are out of electricity. Joed found our patio cover (the smaller one just out our back door) in the next door neighbors front yard. Some facia board damage along the driveway side of the house and also some missing soffit. One of our french doors lost all of its panes and glass was spread out all the way to our living room by the front door. All in all, we can deal with what he found. Celeste and I will stay in Ruston until the electricity is back on. Last work Celeste got was that Nicholls Univ. in Thibodeaux should start back on Monday.
Henry and I (along with my folks) are still in Jonesboro AR with our Katarina Angels
we plan to stay until IKE makes up his mind where he is going...
I have very limited email access and the cells only work when we are outside.
We are fine and wished we could get back home sooner....but the trip here lasted from 1:30 am Sunday morning until 6 pm Sunday night...don't want to do that again too soon.
ALl of our extended family members are fine.
Love and hugs to all
Cheryl
Henry and I are back home as of Monday night. The trip back was much shorter than the trip going. It's good to be back home again. We only had debris in the yard, no damages (all of our extended family members did well also)....God is so good. See all of you on Sunday.
Cheryl
